BIO

Rachel is a Los Angeles-based director and Emmy award-winning producer who works in features, television, commercials and hip new formats that are difficult to keep up with.

Rachel has a diverse body of work (spanning comedy, drama and action) with a consistent focus on character and story. She began her career at a Roger Corman-esque studio where she made everything from a steampunk/sci-fi giant vfx monster action flick to a Christian family musical. She has directed seven feature films in all, distributed to Showtime, Netflix, Lifetime and SyFy.  Most recently she helmed A DEADLY ADOPTION, a meta Lifetime movie starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. She’s currently attached to MGM's musical adaptation of 1983's romantic comedy VALLEY GIRL and Gary Sanchez’s I'M IN LOVE WITH THE DJ. She is also involved with the indie IN SEARCH OF OUR FATHER, SYLVESTER STALLONE, set in the world of child immigration in Latin America.

Rachel spent 2013-14 as Funny or Die's White House liaison, overseeing its political content. She won an Emmy for producing BETWEEN TWO FERNS WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA. Her directing work at FoD includes SNACKPOCALYPSE starring Michelle Obama; MARY POPPINS QUITS with Kristen Bell (promoting minimum wage increase) and MODERN OFFICE starring Christina Hendricks (advocating workplace equality for women). Rachel directed the 2014 Women In Film Awards’ cold open video MEN IN FILM starring Fred Willard.

Rachel directed the critically acclaimed FoD series LADY TIME, which has found a home at ABCdigital, with a brand new season of extended episodes. She's directed episodes of THE MINDY PROJECT, ANGIE TRIBECA, PARTY OVER HERE, and Z NATION. She just completed I'M SORRY, a pilot for TruTV starring Andrea Savage, Judy Greer, Jason Mantzoukas, June Squibb and Judith Light.

Rachel studied filmmaking at Ithaca College. She was born in Mars, PA and grew up in Massachusetts with her parents, little brother, two cats and a ferret named Tootsie Roll.
